A concrete example of this revolution is the collaboration between Veleria San Giorgio and the team Le Ragazze della RAN, which unites the nautical industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of this collaboration lies the participation of team Le Ragazze della RAN in the RAN 630 regatta, one of the Mediterranean\u2019s most prestigious and challenging sailing events, which took place on 26 April 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Naval Academy Regatta, organised by Yacht Club Livorno, extends for over 630 miles between Livorno, Porto Cervo and Capri: a test of resistance, skill and team spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team, consisting of eight women and two reserves, chose to compete on board Audace, a First 47.7 owned by Celia Oliverio. This is the first time an all-female team has taken part in an event of this magnitude, challenging the stereotypes of the traditional sailing world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Ragazze della RAN\u2019s participation is not only a sporting challenge; it also sends a message with strong social impact. In an interview at the starting line, Celia Oliverio shared her thoughts: \u201cWe\u2019re eight friends united by this challenge, a way of showing that women can compete at high level and promote inclusion and equality\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participation of an all-female crew is an important step in the fight against gender discrimination in the world of sailing, which is still beset with prejudices and attitudes that are not particularly inclusive. Celia points out how many women still encounter obstacles and stereotypes, including the mistaken belief that women on board bring bad luck or lack competence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
